An author surcharge applies to registrations in the student categories. SBESC, SBC, and IEEE also enforce a strict no-show policy, which requires that at least one author attend the conference and present the paper in order to have it published in the Proceedings.

Full papers written in English (up to 8 pages) will be published by IEEE and indexed at IEEE Xplore by CPS. Work-in-progress papers (up to 6 pages) and full papers written in Portuguese or Spanish will be published by SBC in the SBC Open Library. All published papers will be assigned a DOI and compiled in one of the two parts of the Proceedings.

Presentation at the Symposium

SBESC 2020 will use a hybrid model, with presentations being recorded as videos and uploaded in advance, and the authors attending a scheduled session in which the video will be played through a video conferencing system, with authors synchronously answering questions from the audience. Each work will also be assigned a chat room, where the video will be posted in advance, so the audience can also asynchronously interact with authors. Videos must be uploaded to any repository (e.g. unlinked YouTube, Dropbox, Google Drive) from which the organization will be able to download it without any authentication procedures. The link must be submitted via the SBC's submission system before November 15, 2020. The videos will be played according to with the Program. Obviously, papers written in English must be presented in English, and papers written in Portuguese must be presented in Portuguese. Full papers' videos must not exceed 15 minutes. They will be presented in 20 minutes slots, with 5 minutes for discussions. WiP papers' videos must not exceed 7 minutes and will be presented in 10-minute slots. Before preparing your video, please check a tutorial like this to ensure its quality.
