Scope
Sustainable computing is an increasingly important topic that can be addressed from multiple perspectives, ranging from energy efficiency to the reuse of electronic devices. In this edition of SCoRe, we place special emphasis on initiatives focused on device reuse, particularly IPTV set-top boxes, thousands of which are confiscated annually by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service. Instead of being destroyed, resulting in high costs and environmental harm, these devices have the potential to be repurposed, for example, as computers for educational purposes or as platforms for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. SCoRe aims to bring together researchers, professionals, and community members to discuss and promote technological and sustainable solutions for reusing these devices, though not limited to this focus.
Topics of Interest (Repurposed IPTV)
Operating systems and software platforms
Applications and graphical user interfaces (GUIs)
Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, and embedded systems
Educational uses and initiatives
Performance optimization and energy efficiency
Case studies, practical implementations, and experience reports
