Call for Grants

Are you a graduate or undergraduate student with an interest in embedded systems and seeking support to attend the SBESC Symposium?
Do you want to share your academic interests and projects with the embedded systems community?
Applications are now open for travel grants to help fund your trip!
🧾 Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Students with an accepted paper or accepted project in the Embedded Systems Competition at SBESC will receive extra points in the evaluation process.
- A letter of recommendation from a professor or advisor is mandatory.
- You must submit a video presentation via a cloud storage link (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox).
- 50% of the available grants will be allocated to female students, as part of our commitment to promoting gender equity in STEM.
- If you are an author of a paper or a member of a team participating in the Embedded Systems Competition, please clearly state this in your application email.
💰 Grant Amounts and Payment:
- Students from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Paraná: up to USD $ 250
- Students from other states: up to USD $ 400
- Grants will be provided as reimbursements upon presentation of appropriate receipts related to travel or accommodation expenses for attending SBESC. Instruction will be provided to the recipients.
🎥 Video Submission:
Applicants must submit a short video (maximum 3 minutes) presenting their academic work or research interest in an engaging and creative way, connecting it to the topics of the SBESC Symposium.
- Host the video in the cloud (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox) and include the link in your e‑mail.
- Attach a PDF letter of recommendation in the same e‑mail; applications without the letter will not be reviewed.
- Videos are evaluated for impact, creativity, style, relevance to the symposium and presentation.
📌 Requirements for Grant Recipients:
- Attend Industry Day at SBESC.
- Present a poster related to your current research or academic project in an area relevant to SBESC.
- Attend at least one keynote session on a day other than the Industry Day.
🖼️ Poster Presentation:
Your poster should highlight a topic you are currently exploring in your studies or research, aligned with the themes and areas covered by SBESC.
