Additional Information on Minicourses of ESSE
Minicourse 1: IoT with SmartData hands-on
The SmartData API is a proposal from the Software/Hardware Integration Lab. (LISHA) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) that provides a full-stack framework for Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) connected to the Internet of Things (IoT). At the CPS level, it covers a clean API for interacting with sensor/actuator hardware and a communication protocol for dissemination and semantic enrichment of data. At the IoT level, it provides the same data semantics and enables integration with high-level Internet API's.
In this minicourse, the SmartData API will be presented, as well as UFSC's SmartData-powered IoT infrastructure. Participants will receive a real IoT device (EPOSMoteIII) and use the EPOS Operating System to program it using the SmartData API. The programmed device will send data to an IoT gateway, which will forward the data to UFSC's IoT infrastructure. After that, participants will be able to retrieve the generated data using high-level web API's.
Requirements
- For programming the IoT device: a Linux computer with internet access. Participants are encouraged to follow EPOS' instalation instructions before the minicourse.
- For interacting with SmartData through web API's: a computer (any OS) with internet access.
When
- Nov. 7, Tuesday, 8:30-10:30 AM
