The city

The symposium will take place at Universidade Federal Fluminense in Niterói/RJ, Brazil.
 
Niterói, a town in the state of Rio de Janeiro, is the fifth most populous city of the state, has the highest Human Development Index (HDI) and the fifth largest GDP of the country. Known as “Cidade-Sorriso” (Portuguese for “Smile-City”), it was the capital of the state and nowadays attracts high investments in real state, industrial and commercial sectors. The main accesses to the city of Rio de Janeiro are the “Rio-Niterói” bridge and the ferry that crosses the Guanabara Bay.

Also known as “Terra de Arariboia” (Portuguese for “Arariboia’s Land”), Niterói is one of the most important financial and commercial centers of the state. Restaurants, museums ,  big supermarkets, shopping centers, hundreds of bars, beautiful beaches, hospitals, universities and etc. are attractions that provide big entertainment and services to the population. Niterói is also one of the cities with most concentration of artworks projected by Oscar Niemayer, some famous like “Museu de Arte Comtenporânea” (MAC) and “Caminho Niemayer”. With an outstanding gastronomy, it is considered a great city not only to live but to visit too.   

Conference venue

The registration desk and the main room are in the 1st floor of the building of Geosciences, Praia Vermelha Campus, Universidade Federal Fluminense, Niterói/RJ. The accomodation menu has a google maps route from each suggested hotels to the conference venue and the route of bus line connecting all hotels, the main bus terminal and the conference venue.
