Special Sessions
The SBESC 2026 organizing committee invites researchers and professionals to submit proposals for special sessions. Special sessions will provide the opportunity for groups of interested researchers, professionals, and practitioners to meet and discuss their work in specific areas related to the broad context of SBESC, but that are emerging, highly innovative, or have currently attracted significant attention.
Special Sessions Proposals and Organization
Special sessions proposals will be reviewed by a technical committee appointed for this purpose. Once approved, the special session organizers will be responsible for creating and publicizing a specific call for papers, as well as coordinating the review process for submitted papers.
Approved special sessions will accept paper submissions in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, formatted according to the IEEE two-column conference template with a maximum of 6 pages.
Online submissions through SBC's submission system only
Proposal Content and Submission
Proposal for special sessions must contain the following information:
- Title of the Special Session.
- Brief description of the area of concern (maximum 200 words), including a justification on why it represents a significant topic for a SBESC special session.
- Name and contact information of at most three special session organizers.
- Background of the special session organizers in the context of the special session area.
- A list of potential reviewers and their affiliations (minimum of 10).
Special session submissions must be written in English, Portuguese, or Spanish. At least one organizer of an approved special session is expected to register for and attend the symposium.
Publication of Papers Accepted for Special Sessions
As for regular SBESC papers, accepted special session papers written in English will be published by Conference Publishing Services (CPS) and indexed in IEEE Xplore. Papers written in Portuguese or Spanish will be published by SBC in the SBC Open Library. All published papers will be assigned a DOI and compiled into one of the two parts of the Proceedings.
